"I <3 U"
It wasn't exactly the "less than three" symbol used for hearts nowadays, but I stumbled upon some Valentine classifieds in the Daily Forty-Niner archives that had words and phrases commonly used in today's instant/text messaging world.
It was amusing to read love notes to friends and lovers alike, and even more amusing to come across spellings or phrases used in today's instant messaging society. Commonplace was the phrase, "luv u".
But no matter how it's spelled or expressed, the emotion of love is, indeed, timeless.
